things you only see in sf halloween 2025
so, this party was actually wild. like, you walk in and see someone dressed as github, and then i’m there in a cursor ide mask. and right away, there’s like, a thousand founders and ai people in one room. literally every third person wanted to connect on linkedin or twitter. i mean, at college parties, people just follow each other on instagram or discord, but here it was just all tech connects, super fast.

well, biggest shoutout to Cara for the invite, because without her, i don’t think i’d get in. okay, so there’s this one dude, jonathon liu, who shows up in a cockroach costume, and i’m not kidding, he was dancing like nothing i’ve seen before. people literally started calling it “the cockroach moves” and hyping him up. everyone was laughing, it was sort of ridiculous and great at the same time.

one thing i noticed, these founders can actually dance. at one point, i look around and people just break into dance circles. music’s going hard, a merge-conflict costume cuts the room in half, and people are demoing ai projects in the corner. so many weird, random conversations, but honestly, it was easy to talk to anyone. just say, “hey, what’s your product?” and it’s like you’re instantly in.

all the hosts put together a great event, so thanks to Cara, pally ai, Peggy, Fondocom, Onairosapp, and everyone who brought the sf halloween energy.
i left with more linkedin connects than i can count, and honestly, that was the craziest, friendliest tech party i’ve ever been to. sf is just different.
